Senior Leadership

President & CEO

Christian G. Downs, JD, MHA, is president and Chief Executive Officer of (c) Management, Inc. He brings more than 15 years of association management expertise, guiding associations in their work on national policy and educational programming. Christian has been instrumental in working with healthcare providers, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Congress on association–specific issues.
 
Christian led ACCC efforts on such critical issues as easing implementation of new regulations, ensuring patient access to new cancer therapies, and refining physician office payments for delivery of services. He has worked in the public policy department of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) on physician office and billing and coding issues. Christian has previously administered a large tertiary care hospital, managed a physician multispecialty practice, and worked for the Education and Health Committee of the Virginia State Senate.Christian received his MA in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia and his law degree from George Mason University with a special focus on regulatory and administrative law. He is a board member of the Patient Advocate Foundation and C–Change, a large coordinating organization for cancer groups.

Vice President; Director of Finance

Lois Utterback, CPA, is Vice President of (c) Management, Inc., and is Director of Finance at ACCC. Lois has been with the company for 30+ years, and in addition to being one of the principal owners of the company, leads up the accounting and HR departments. Lois received her BS from the University of Maryland and is a licensed CPA in the state of Maryland. She is a huge Washington Nationals fan and loves spending time with her Siberian Huskies.

Chief Operating Officer

Amanda Kramar, is Chief Operating Officer at (c) Management, Inc. In conjunction with members of the business development team, Amanda develops new and innovative ideas for education programs and develops collaborative relationships with partners and funders to secure educational grants to support these programs. Amanda and her team are also responsible for directing the development and implementation of all funded projects, ensuring that deliverables exceed quality, content, budget, and timeline expectations.
 
Amanda has 10 years of experience in the medical education field, managing project portfolios from proposal and budget development through reconciliation. Prior to joining CMI, Ms. Kramar worked at the American College of Cardiology Foundation, leading its grants team and managing a portfolio of educational products as well as relationships with a variety of strategic industry and association partners.

Chief Development Officer

Neil Gottlieb, MBA, is Chief Development Officer at (c) Management, Inc. Neil is an award-winning and globally recognized leader in the healthcare industry with more than 26 years of diverse business experience in pharmaceutical sales, training, and development; multiple US and global leadership positions; and digital health marketing agency experience in business development and strategy. In addition, Neil has led non-profit development teams with the sole purpose of raising funds to bring amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) treatments into clinical trials. Neil received his BS and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Arizona.

Mike Andrews,  is Senior Director of Corporate Relations at ACCC, where he serves as the primary liaison between ACCC and its Industry Advisory Council, Emerging Companies Council, and Technical Advisory Council. He manages all corporate member relationships.

Chief Medical Officer

Leigh Boehmer, PharmD, BCOP, is the Chief Medical Officer for the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC). In this role, he’s responsible for assessing educational needs and designing interventions for multidisciplinary cancer care teams serving patients in the community. He also serves as a liaison with external stakeholders, including patient advocacy organizations, policy experts, and governmental agencies, to advance the objectives of ACCC membership and projects.
 
An alumnus of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, Dr. Boehmer completed PGY1 and PGY2 oncology residencies at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has served as an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, and as an inpatient medical oncology clinical pharmacy specialist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Prior to his position with ACCC, he served as Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at a community cancer program in North Central Iowa.
 

Senior Director, Membership and Public Relations

Lori Gardner,  is Senior Director, Membership and Public Relations for ACCC, where her areas of responsibility include marketing client programs and resources, creating and disseminating all client member communications both print and digital, and the planning and implementation of strategies to ensure membership growth and increased engagement for all clients. She has been with CMI for more than 12 years. In her free time, Lori has turned her passion for dining out into a DC restaurant review blog.

Lorna Lucas, MSM, is Senior Director of Provider Education at ACCC, where she manages the ACCC education initiatives portfolio, producing high-quality resources to support the multidisciplinary cancer care team. She earned her BA in American Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), and her MS in Management from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). (Go Terps!) Monique J. Marino is Senior Director, Editorial Content and Strategy at ACCC, where she is responsible for developing quality, member-driven content for ACCC’s bimonthly, peer-reviewed journal Oncology Issues. She is also responsible for developing agendas for ACCC flagship meetings, including identifying topics and subject matter experts. Monique grew up in Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude from Shippensburg University. Monique lived in Tokyo for five years before moving to the Washington, DC. metropolitan area. She spends most weekends sailing and motoring in the Chesapeake Bay.

Lisa Townsend, is Senior Director, Marketing & Communications. Previously, Lisa was the Director of Programs and Strategic Partnerships for a national women’s heart health organization. In a former life, Lisa’s passion for food and wine led her to the “other CIA” (the Culinary Institute of America), where she graduated with a degree in Baking & Pastry, and worked in several top-rated restaurants in Manhattan and Washington, D.C.
 

Executive Director, Oncology State Societies at ACCC

Stephanie Van Winkle is Executive Director at (c) Management, Inc., where she oversees educational programming initiatives and administrative operations for 21 oncology state societies. Stephanie has over 20 years of leadership experience in the private and non-profit sectors, including 12 years with the American Cancer Society where she led strategic alliances with the Commission on Cancer and medical professional organizations. Stephanie received her BS in Management Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Angela Meers brings over 15 years of Human Resources experience including full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, conflict resolution, employee relations, labor law and regulation, full benefit implementation and maintenance, HRIS system implementation, payroll administration, etc..

Project Manager, Provider Education

Limaya Atembina, MSW, is Project Manager, Provider Education at ACCC, where she leads educational programs and initiatives for the multidisciplinary cancer care team. Limaya holds a BS in Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MSW from The Catholic University of America. In her spare time, Limaya enjoys learning people’s personal stories, being outdoors, touring historic sites, eating good food, shopping, visiting new places, spending time with the fam, and relaxing.

Erica Bellavia, CMP is Meeting Planner at ACCC, where she organizes meeting logistics for both ACCC and the Oncology State Society Network. She moved to the Washington, DC metropolitan area from Ohio shortly after receiving her degree in Marketing from Penn State University. Erica enjoys action movies, Pittsburgh professional sports, cooking, and spending lots of time with her amazing golden retriever.
 

Director of Development and Strategic Alliances at ACCC

Colleen Cancio is Director of Development and Strategic Alliances at ACCC, working collaboratively with external organizations to respond to evolving trends in cancer care. Her work strengthens ACCC’s population health initiatives, addressing disparities in care, clinical trial participation, and the needs of older adults. Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. She lives in the District with her husband, two daughters, a dog, and the dog’s pet cat.
 

Marketing Associate

Kayla Cohen is the Marketing Associate at ACCC serving as a key contributor to the marketing efforts of the department. Her main responsibilities include social media, graphic design, email communications, and exhibit logistics. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in Government & Politics and minor in General Business. Outside of work, she enjoys photography and traveling.

Nellie Dickens, CMP, is Director, Meetings & Virtual Event Production at ACCC, where she is responsible for logistics for all ACCC meetings and oversees the team that produces meetings for all of OSSN’s state society clients. A seasoned writer, editor, and manager with a master’s degree in English and more than 20 years of editorial experience, Barbara works to target specific audiences with carefully crafted communications. She has written for, edited, and/or managed a variety of editorial products, including books, journals, magazines, blogs, white papers, research reports, websites, and social media content. She has written for and managed flagship publications at the Association of American Medical Colleges and the National Association for Home Care and Hospice. For nine years, she wrote for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), authoring a wide variety of healthcare and technology publications.
 
In her current capacity as Senior Writer/Editor at ACCC, Barbara manages the blog, ACCCBuzz, contributes to ACCC’s bimonthly peer-reviewed journal, Oncology Issues, and writes and edits a wide variety of education materials. Barbara earned her BA in English from Goucher College and her MA in English from Brandeis University. She lives in Crofton, MD, with her husband, son, and two kitty cats.

Regina Gibson-Burtnick, CAE is Education Coordinator at (c) Management, Inc., where she is responsible for working with accredited providers to ensure compliance with certification requirements. Associate, Cancer Care Delivery & Health Policy

Blake McCreery-Cullifer has over a decade of healthcare experience. Prior to joining ACCC, they worked with various patient populations primarily in community settings. Most recently they worked at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation helping people with CF navigate insurance, financial, and legal issues. They have facilitated professional advocacy groups and guided congressional meetings. They recently received a BS in political science and are working on a MA in political psychology.
 

Senior Program Manager, Provider Education

Sandra Megally graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in Sociology and has been working in medical education for almost 10 years. She is involved with ACCME and the Alliance, having presented or moderated sessions at both meetings. Sandra is a native Texan (Go Cowboys!) and has lived in the DMV for about 10 years. She is a hobbyist golfer and practices archery. She loves being on the water and is an avid swimmer and kayaker. She is the proud owner of one very fat cat, loves eating good food, and enjoys horror movies and true crime podcasts.

Shannon Paciorek is Meeting Coordinator at ACCC, where she handles registration for all meetings and conferences. She is also responsible for producing all meetings materials and maintaining the data integrity of registration databases. In her free time, you will find Shannon running or on the sidelines cheering for her daughter’s soccer team. Shannon remains hopeful that the Cleveland Browns will appear in a Super Bowl in her lifetime.

Elana Plotkin, CMP-HC, is Assistant Director of Provider Education at ACCC and OSSN, where she works on a variety of multidisciplinary education initiatives featuring quality improvement and peer to peer learning for the memberships. Her portfolio includes health literacy, geriatric oncology, value-based care, oral oncolytics, molecular testing, metastatic breast cancer, and various supportive care programs. In her free time, Elana coaches for a youth lacrosse league, travels the world, and cheers on her alma mater, the Florida Gators.

Rebecca Pyuzza, MPH, is a Program Manager with the Provider Education Team at ACCC. Rebecca is a result-driven team leader with 8 years of public health experience and 6 years of project management experience. She has supervised an array of diverse professionals and cultivates relationships with numerous community leaders and stakeholders. She has been instrumental in ensuring that program objectives are achieved and client relations are sustained, working in both local and international settings.

Latha Shivakumar is Director of Clinical Education Development at ACCC, where she is responsible for identifying educational needs among ACCC members and developing innovative clinical educational programs to address these needs. Janelle Schrag, MPH, is Assistant Director of Research Programs, Provider Education at ACCC, where she leads various multidisciplinary education initiatives related to immunotherapy, precision medicine, and quality improvement. She holds BS in Biology from Northwest University in Washington State and an MPH from King’s College London. Outside of work, Janelle is an avid knitter, seasoned glamper, and “the cool aunt” to her niece and twin nephews.

Betsy Spruill is Leadership Relations Manager at ACCC and Board Relations Associate for (c) Management, Inc., where she works closely with board members, committee chairs, and senior staff and serves as a key resource for engaging volunteer leadership, supporting organizational infrastructure, and managing annual elections and nominations processes. Betsy received her BA in Integrative Studio Art with a concentration in Photo-based Media from the University of Alabama.
